SINGLE CUP
COFFEE
There seem to be fewer and fewer
morning people these days. I am
definitely not one myself. Making an
entire pot of coffee is a big waste in my
home because I get up as late as I
possibly can in the morning. I rarely
have time for more than a single serve
coffee.
I chose to purchase a single cup
coffee maker to use throughout the week
and the purchase was very wise. I can not
count how many times I have thrown away a
half of a pot of coffee here and three
quarters of one there. The price of
coffee is pretty steep right now. It is
better to make as much as you need when
you need it rather than wasting perfectly
good java beans. A single cup coffee
maker is the ideal option for people on
the go.

Popularity of
Coffee
One
cannot help but notice the popularity single
cup coffee drinking has gained over the past
decade. With coffee bars and cafés continuing
to spring up on main streets and shopping
malls, it is not just the coffee on demand
drink that people are interested in. A single
serve coffee has become a symbol in society and
somewhat of a centerpiece for gathering. For
many people it is a great way to get together
in cordial surroundings and enjoy each other’s
company, or, for some, the perfect way to relax
in a peaceful and familiar
environment.

Coffee Stats
Today,
coffee is a giant global industry employing
more than 20 million people. This commodity
ranks second only to petroleum in terms of
dollars traded worldwide. With over 400 billion
cups consumed every year, coffee is the world's
most popular beverage. If you can imagine, in
Brazil alone, over 5 million people are
employed in the cultivation and harvesting of
over 3 billion coffee plants.

Brief History of
Coffee
According to legend an Arabian
goatherd named Kaldi found his goats dancing
joyously around a dark green leafed shrub with
bright red cherries in the southern tip of the
Arabian Peninsula. Kaldi soon determined that
it was the bright red cherries on the shrub
that were causing the peculiar euphoria and
after trying the cherries himself, he learned
of their powerful effect. The stimulating
effect was then exploited by monks at a local
monastery to stay awake during extended hours
of prayer and distributed to other monasteries
around the world. Coffee was
born....
